Literature Text

Imagine the sea, crashing over every fiber of your being.
Its salty waters drown every pore,
The force of it rolling around your body,
Tumbling you deeper into its abyss.
Your lungs burn from lack of air and your mind blank in fear and uncertainty.
The salt stings your eyes and you cover your mouth with your hands, keeping the last breath inside.
Your body becomes numb from the chilly sea and lack of air,
Your heart is pounding against your chest, threatening to explode.
Imagine the torment your body is being put through as it is forced under over and over again.
You are alone in the darkness, no light to guide you to safety.
Your life flashes before your crying eyes,
Every mistake amplified, every moment of happiness warming you.
The people you love fade way into nothingness as you lose consciousness.
The sea rips that last breath from your lips and you drown,
Bitterness fills your lungs as you sink to the floor.
You die, regretting all that you've never done and never said.
i was thinking about anchors all day today and thought that this would be an appropriate poem to write.
